On October 29^th at Lubbock Cooper High School, Coronado’s Math UIL team participated in their first meet of the year. Coronado took 2^nd place overall, earning 1^st with a total score of 636 in the number sense category and 3^rd with a total score of 460 in the calculator category.

In numbers sense, Matt Hansen came in 1^st in the Senior category.  Kyle Wolfe came in right behind him in 2^nd place. Fellow Senior Nadia Tello came in 5^th. Noah Hodson came in 2^nd in the Junior category. Le Hoang Thui Trang came in 4^th place of the same category.

In calculator, Wolfe came in 5^th place of the Senior category. Hansen came in right next to him in 6^th place. Tello came in 9th. Hudson came in 1^st in the Junior category. Sophomore Elizabeth Hansen came in 3^rd in her category. Lastly, Cassie Webb came in 1^st in the Freshmen category.

Congratulations to our Math UIL team! We wish you good luck on your next meet, which will be at Texas Tech University on November 19^th.

Special thanks to the Math UIL team coach Cecilee Echols.  This is her first year and she is doing a great job of teaching the class, pulling out a 2^nd place win with a team that is composed of mostly new members to the Math UIL program.
