With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, guys are starting to sweat about what they should be doing to make the day perfect for that special someone. A romantic dinner, candles flickering on the table, and the all-important flowers make Valentine’s Day what it is. So guys, instead of wandering around a store trying to pick between one red rose or twenty white ones- let’s dive into the secret meanings of flowers for your Valentine.
Deciding what color of rose will be waiting on that table is the first step. Red is always a good choice, this color portrays beauty, courage, “I love you”, sincere love, and passion. If a standard Valentine’s Day is what you dream of, then this is the choice for you. But, for those more adventurous, we have some other more interesting choices ahead.
White roses mean happy love (that’s why they’re used mostly in weddings), so if you want that girl to know you’re happy in the relationship this is the flower for you! Pink is another good choice, meaning appreciation, admiration, and gentleness. This choice would be more appropriate for like a mother or your sister, instead of maybe the girl of your dreams. Yellow with a red tip is for you guys who are delving into the world of unknown on this special day, like trying to introduce a new love. This flower means friendship turning into falling in love. Peach would also be a good choice for this situation, meaning appreciation, closing the deal, or let’s get together. A thorn-less or lavender colored rose means love at first sight, which will always give you a point in the wooing women department!
So now that you’ve, hopefully, got a color chosen for your magnificent bouquet, here’s the hard part. Trying to decide where the relationship is number wise. The number of flowers given is just as, if not more, important than the color. Here’s a guide to the number side of the situation.
A single rose, of any color, but red especially, shows utmost devotion. This single steam is simple, and gets your message across loud and clear. Two roses entwined together say “Marry me” to the women sitting across from you at the wonderful meal (boys, you may want to save that one for later on). Eleven roses assures that the recipient of the buds are truly and deeply loved, which you can really never go wrong with giving. And finally, for the more shy boys of the world, thirteen roses indicate a secret admirer.
