Sweaty palms, shaky nerves, and maybe even a bad case of the butterflies; having talent is one thing, but getting out in front of half of your school to show it is something totally different.
On Friday, January 20, 2012, Coronado High School held their annual Talent Show. Of the many auditions, only 14 made it to the actual show to perform. There was singing, dancing, playing guitar, beat boxing, and much more.
All acts were well received by the audience, but a few stood out above the rest. Cynthia Espinoza sang an original song named “In Your Love Story,” played the guitar, and swept up the first place prize. Brandt Morris and Yousef Saed played “Dialectic Chaos” on the drums and electric guitar, helping them grab second place. In third place was Savannah Hurst doing a lyrical dance to “Make You Feel My Love”.
The dance number by Tevin Lawson & Rod Moore garnished the most applause by the sold out crowd. Other acts included: Calvin McNelly & James Sypert, Knights of Elizabeth, Marcus Brackens, Stone Preston, Chris Woodcook, Jennifer Morazan, Cash Taylor, Eric Honesto & Audrey Ruiz, Kailiegh Boas, and Paragee.
With many talents circulating around Coronado, these are just a few who had the guts to show it off and face their fellow students. All the participants did wonderfully, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the show next year!
