On January 24, 2012, Coronado had their annual Battle of the Sexes Pep Rally. Each year the school holds this special spring event in honor of the Coronado vs. Monterey basketball game. Since this was the last pep rally of the year, students were in high spirits as they gathered in the gym.

The cheerleaders led the crowd in many chants, getting everyone pumped up for an eventful morning. Pom girls did a great routine, playing some of the most popular songs of the moment and matching the beat flawlessly. Senior Hunter Havins and Junior Megan Pierson led the crowd in the vocal competition, boys vs. girls. Girls won! When the cupid shuffle began to play, a swarm of students from the bleachers rushed onto the court to join in on the dance. The morning was a great success and we know it’ll be even better next year!
