A common phrase you hear from men from women is: “men are dogs.” Saying that all boys are dogs is a bit of an exaggeration.
You all know how it begins. Once upon a time, but what happens when your knight in shining armor stands you up to hang out with his friends? We ask damsel in distress Bethany Romos what happened when her prince didn’t exactly come through for her. Bethany planned on going on a date to the movies with a boy she had been dating for a month. “I had to give him a ride to the movies, when I showed up at his house his sister answered the door and told me he was already at the movies,” Romos said.
“When I got to the theater he wasn’t there and when I called him he acted like he didn’t know what was going on.” So much for happily ever after…
Prince charming’s are far from perfect but you would think they could resist promiscuous puckering princesses, well you thought wrong.
A sophomore’s fairy tale didn’t go as planned when her “dog” decided to go barking up the wrong tree. “While we were dating he went to the movies with two other girls and told me he was going with his guy friends.” After they broke up she heard stories that he had been interested in other girls while they were dating. “Now he is dating a girl from Monterey.” I hope this boy is more faithful to his Plainsmen poodle than his last, I guess rivalry means nothing to this “cute couple.”
Tennis player Morgan Perez tells us, “Boys aren’t dogs, they are cats. They only come back when they want or need something.” Eloy Perez disagrees and has a different, and I guess you could call it a refreshing view on the stereo type. He states, “Not all boys are dogs, girls are hypocritical and are based on drama. I cheated on a girl once, but it was mutual because she cheated on me.”
Have an opinion yet? Cristina Simons does. She says, “I think most boys are dogs, their rude and try to get with girls even if they are in a relationship.” Coach George believes men aren’t bad people and that they don’t make poor decisions any more than women do. Good point Coach, girls do make mistakes, perhaps the biggest one believes all boys are the same or maybe it’s for trusting them in the first place. Mrs. May points out that boys are dogs because girls put up with it.
Call them dogs or even pigs, but bottom line; boys get rewarded for acting like shallow jerks. Get a reality-check, boys, and grow up, cheating and standing up girls doesn’t make you cool. It shows how immature and scared you are to be in a committed relationship. If you want to be respected, respect the one you’re with. Not only would it not kill you guys to stop cheating but it would be nice if you would hold a door open or even pull a chair out every once in a while.
